CMDA’S FIRST ANNUAL ONTARIO SUMMER CAMP TOUR

Led by Hershel Recht, CMDA Central Region Director, Major Gifts, and Daniel Amzallag, CMDA National Media and Volunteer Coordinator, CMDA visited three Ontario camps in July.

On Sunday, July 14th and again on Sunday, July 21st, Hershel and Daniel were warmly welcomed by campers, staff and parents on visiting days at both Camp Moshava in Ennismore and Camp Ramah in Utterson.

The Mobile Intensive Care Unit was the hit of the day with everyone invited to climb inside and look around. In addition to informative demonstrations, visitors received MDA first aid kits and mini flashlights.

On Thursday, July 18th, CMDA was honored to serve as the official paramedic staff for the 12th Annual Nate Huffman Memorial Basketball Tournament at Camp Northland. The biggest tournament of its kind in Ontario, nine camps participated including George, Ramah, Tamakwa, Tamarack, Timberlane, Wahanowin, Walden, and White Pine.

This first annual camp tour was a wonderful opportunity to inform and demonstrate what CMDA does and to teach valuable lessons in emergency first aid.

Where the Ontario Summer Camp Tour will take us in 2020 is up to you. If you are a camp director, staff member, parent or camper and would like CMDA to visit your camp, please contact the CMDA office at 416-780-0034.
