Every year Magen David Adom offers hundreds of students aged 18 to 25, from across the globe, the chance to participate in their volunteer program and experience first hand, why MDA is such a unique organization.
The extremely successful Volunteer Program has been running in conjunction with the British Aliyah Department for the last two years and over a hundred students have attended. They have had a wonderful time learning first aid and seeing how MDA works.
The program runs for six weeks at a time, throughout the year, and volunteers from around the world participate in this wonderful experience. The program begins with a week-long intensive first aid training course where subjects such as basic anatomy and physiology, CPR, trauma and dealing with injuries are covered. After completing the course, you work alongside some of the 10,000 medics and paramedics, of which 8,500 are volunteers, going out in ambulances and dealing with real life situations.

Working side by side for a common purpose.
When Magen David Adom was established in 1930, its pride was its single ambulance, which was incessantly on call.
As medical emergencies increase over the years, so does the need for medical supplies and equipment.
Even when personal needs required attention, the will of the Israeli people to give back to their people and communities always took top priority.
